The Department of Health Victoria has partnered with Nous and the University of Melbourne to review the current approach to training & development (T&D) funding arrangements. The review will provide recommendations on the future of the scheme and create an implementation blueprint. The review will assess the efficacy of the current approach and its ability to deliver value for the Victorian health workforce, the community it serves, the department, and the health system.

The review team wants to survey Victoria’s public health and mental health workforce to know if T&D programs and the department’s funding arrangements are achieving their intended outcomes. This includes clinical placements, graduate positions, postgraduate programs, and continued professional development activities.

Although many initiatives focus on early career stages, the team is eager to hear from the entire public health workforce as well as students completing clinical placements in public health services to gain a comprehensive understanding of T&D throughout the entire professional journey.

This survey is for:
- Health and mental health workers in public health services, and area mental health and wellbeing settings
- Students who are completing clinical placements in public health settings

This survey is not for general health service stakeholders, or education providers. These groups will be consulted separately.
